Dubai Opera Theatre opened its doors in 2016 as the centerpiece of Dubai's Opera District, marking a new chapter in the region's cultural landscape. Project Announcement

2012

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum announces the Dubai Opera project as part of the comprehensive development of Downtown Dubai, envisioning a world-class cultural destination.

Construction Begins

2013

Groundbreaking ceremony marks the beginning of construction for what would become the region's most sophisticated performing arts venue, designed by renowned architect Janus Rostock.

Grand Opening

2016

Dubai Opera Theatre officially opens with a spectacular gala performance featuring Plácido Domingo, marking the beginning of a new era for performing arts in the Middle East.
